I’m really looking forward to strawberry season. Just a couple weeks to go!
Usually, I freeze 3-4 quarts, make lots of strawberry slushies, and eat as many sun-warmed berries as possible. This year, I plan to try my hand at canning some strawberry jam.
I love canning! About 20 years ago, I canned some tomatoes and pickles one summer. I wasn’t sure if I liked it, so I took a loooonnngg break until last fall. I canned some delicious Apple Pie Jam, as well as some mild salsa. I was hooked! Although I don’t have a garden this year (too many other things going on…wedding plans, etc.), I still plan to buy lots of fruit & veggies for preserving. I’m really looking forward to it, even though it’s a lot of work.
