March March March…

April May June, June June June, July August September, Sept Sept September October November December January February MARCH!

The tune may be from the film It’s Always Fair Weather, but Marylanders are looking for some not-so-fair weather this weekend.  Yep, the forecast is calling for rain, sleet, and snow tomorrow afternoon through Monday night.  Winter’s last gasp, I guess.

To be honest, I’m always rather sad to see winter slip away.  I enjoy the cold because it gives me an excuse to snuggle in front of the fire with some hot cocoa or tea (and a stitchy project, of course!).  I love to sit in my rocking chair in the sun room, usually with a small dog on my lap, and watch the snow fall.  I love how bright and clean the world looks after a snowstorm.  Yep, winter will be missed 🙂

March seems to be coming in like a lion this year – it’s pretty cold and breezy today and, like I mentioned, wintry weather is in the forecast.  This morning, I told my daughter that there are only 3 nice things about March…my sister’s birthday, my mom-in-law’s birthday, and St. Patrick’s Day 🙂  I don’t really mean that, of course.  There are many wonderful things to look forward to in the spring time – warming temperatures (no coat!), pretty flowers, greening grass and trees (I love trees!), baby bunnies hopping around the yard, birds building their nests…so many pleasant things!

I recently completed a little stitch in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.  Since I didn’t have money to buy a pattern or kit, I found a free pattern online.  TBH, it wasn’t my favorite, but it’s kinda cute.  Maybe I’ll try my hand at designing one of these days…

Anyway, I hope you like this project and are planning to enjoy the upcoming springy weather!

Stitch Joyously!
